TaskTracker

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 28, 2026

TaskTracker is a personal task and project tracker built and operated by its developer ("we", "us"). This page explains what information the app collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the TaskTracker web app and Android app.

Signing in vs. using a guest project

You can use TaskTracker two ways, and this changes what we know about you:

What we store

CategoryWhat it includes
Content you create Project names, descriptions, and colors; task titles, details, status, priority, and tags; tag names and colors; any images you attach to a task.
Account info For a Google sign-in: your name, email, and profile photo, as supplied by Google. For an Apple sign-in: your name and email (or Apple's private relay address), as supplied by Apple. For a guest project: none, just the anonymous device id above.
Feedback you send The message itself, your name and email (as known from your account, or left blank for a guest), the app version, and the platform (web or Android) you sent it from.
Usage analytics Firebase Analytics records app usage in aggregate, such as which features get used and how often tasks are filtered or sorted. Search text you type is never sent anywhere; only the fact that you searched is recorded.
Security signals On the web app, Firebase App Check can use Google's reCAPTCHA to confirm requests are coming from the real app rather than a script. This is presently in monitoring mode and does not block any request.

How we use it

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Where it lives

TaskTracker is built entirely on Google Firebase: Firestore (your projects and tasks), Cloud Storage (attachment images), Firebase Authentication, Analytics, Remote Config, and App Check. Your data is hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure and governed by Google's own privacy policy for the underlying platform.

Every project and task is scoped to your own account by Firestore's security rules: server-side rules that reject any request for data that doesn't belong to the signed-in user, checked on every read and write. There is no admin screen or back door that lists other users' projects; the one exception is feedback you submit, which the developer can read in order to respond to it.

Deleting your data

Deleting a project or task moves it to that project's trash rather than erasing it immediately, so a mistake is never final by accident. From the trash you can restore it, or delete it permanently at any time.

This page is for TaskTracker. You can request deletion of your account and associated data without installing or opening the app.

Recommended if you uninstalled the app

Request account deletion by email

Email us from the email address you signed in to TaskTracker with (for Hide My Email, from that Apple ID's real address) and ask us to delete your account.

  • We delete the account and associated data (projects, tasks, tags, attachments, profile info we stored).
  • We aim to complete this within 7 days.
  • You will get a short confirmation email when it is done.

Or delete from inside the app

  1. Open TaskTracker and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Choose Delete account and confirm.

This permanently disables sign-in with that account, and for an Apple account it also revokes TaskTracker's access to your Apple ID. Signing in with the same account afterward starts a brand new, empty one, and every project and task you had becomes permanently unreachable, since every request the app makes has to prove it belongs to the currently-signed-in account. If you'd also like the underlying records erased outright rather than left unreachable, use the email request above instead.

Guest projects

Guest mode has no account. Uninstall the app or clear this site's data in the browser to remove it immediately and permanently.

What we keep

We do not keep your projects or account after a deletion request. We may keep a minimal record of the request itself (email and date) for a short period so we can confirm it was handled.

Children's privacy

TaskTracker is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use TaskTracker after a change means you accept the update.

This page is served as a plain, standalone document, separate from the app itself, precisely so it can be read without needing to sign in or load the app.
